Correction Policy

We will get things wrong sometimes. This is how to tell us, and what we commit to doing about it.

Last updated:

Who this is for

Anyone. Job seekers who spot an error, and employers who want a listing corrected or taken down, use the same routes and get the same commitments.

How to request a correction

Please include, where you can:

  • the URL of the page concerned;
  • which specific detail is wrong;
  • what the correct information is;
  • a source we can check, such as the official job posting.

The more specific the request, the faster it gets resolved. “Something on this page is wrong” takes considerably longer than “the deadline is 30 August, not 30 July — see the careers page”.

Target response times

These are the targets we work to. They are commitments of effort, not contractual guarantees.

IssueTarget
Suspected scam or fraudulent listingRemoved from the site within 24 hours while we investigate
Broken application linkChecked and fixed or expired within 2 working days
Expired or filled opportunityMarked expired within 2 working days
Factual error (salary, deadline, location, requirements)Verified and corrected within 3 working days
Employer request to remove a listingActioned within 2 working days
Correction to a career resource or blog articleReviewed within 5 working days

What we do with a report

  1. The report is logged in our review queue. Nothing is changed or deleted purely on the strength of a report — that would make the site trivially easy to manipulate.
  2. We re-check the original source and the application link ourselves.
  3. We act: correct the detail, mark the listing expired, or remove it. The “last checked” date on the listing is updated.
  4. If you gave us an email address, we tell you the outcome.

How corrections appear

  • Job listings: corrected in place, with the verification date updated so you can see it has been re-checked.
  • Expired listings: kept online with a clear notice and links to current alternatives, and removed from search engine indexes. We do not silently delete pages people may have shared.
  • Articles: updated in place with a revised “updated” date. Where a correction changes the substance of the advice, we say what changed rather than quietly rewriting it.
  • Removed listings: the page returns a “not found” response and is removed from our sitemap.

Employers: removal requests

If you are an employer and want a listing taken down — because the role is filled, the details are wrong, or you would simply prefer it not to be listed — email us and we will remove it. We do not require you to justify the request, and we do not charge for removal.

Please contact us from an email address at the company’s domain where possible, or include something that connects you to the organisation. This is only to prevent competitors and bad actors from removing legitimate listings.

What we cannot correct

We can only correct what is on our pages. We cannot change the employer’s own posting, alter their application system, influence an application or hiring decision, or remove a listing from another website. Those need to go to the employer or the site concerned.

If you disagree with our decision

Reply to our response explaining why, and a second person will look at it. If we decline to make a change, we will tell you the reason rather than simply not responding.
